Wheel bearings.

Anybody replaced front wheel bearings on a Montero sport.
I'm sitting on 220k miles. And have a vibration roaring coming from the front.
Thinking its the wheel bearing.
Newish tires just rotated not long ago.

Easy way to check. Lift the front end with a jack, grab two ends of the tire, and give it some vigorous shaking. If it oscillates outside of normal rotation, the bearings are bad. If they need to be replaced it shouldn't be to difficult. Are they captive rotors on these things?

If it's anything like the actual Montero, then it is quite easy to replace them and yes the discs are captive. You need a tool that's listed in the top most sticky in this section.

From what I can see on the web it looks like the same setup.

That doesn't seam to bad. I've only replaced bearings on a Chevy. Which is fairly easy. This goes on the list of things to do next vacation. Along with front cam oil seals. Water pump, timing belt.......
