wheel compatability question taco to fj60

Hi, I have a guy selling some AT tires and he has them mounted on 15 inch taco rims off of a 99 taco. I have a 83 fj60 and want to just put the whole wheel on if I can. Will these taco wheels fit on my 60? If not, I can just take the tires off and sell the wheels I suppose, just trying to take the easy way. Thanks in advance for the answers to this.

answer?

So what what was the answer? I am guessing no, the back spacing is too much on the Taco rim. It would hit parts on the 60.

See other thread... spacers are NOT the answer. And yup, when I put the Taco wheels off my wifes 01 (16"TRD wheels) on my 84 BJ60, it was not driveable...

I have Taco steel wheels on my 60 and use spacers. If you use good spacers and keep ALL the lug nuts torqued it is no different than offset wheels, as far as bearings loads go. I think the wheels look great (sorry no pics).

Yup, need spacers, which would kind of negate the cost savings in the first place... so I just sprung for some new tires instead of the used set. Thank you all.

Exactly. On the cruiser the rim hit tie rods, on the taco, too tall a tire hit everything. (Needed the new tires off the cruiser for a major snow road trip in the taco...)
