Wheel Studs

Has anyone had any issues with wheel studs spinning when using a impact gun to remove the lug nuts? Both sides of my rear wheels studs are spinning and my tire guy is a bit stumped and wondering if we have done something wrong. I trust his judgement as he is our fleet maintenance tech for all of our trucks and trailers.

yeah, they were probably torqued on too tight. Were you able to get the lug nuts off?

This probably means you need to replace the affected hubs.

the studs have a bit of a spline where they pass through the hub. On the inside of the hub is another nut.

I have a box of studs and nuts off a 2004 just sitting around if this helps anyone.

Grab them Allen, my mechanic actually ordered all new ones before I talked to him.
