Wheels JK

Most people use lug-centric wheels, but if you can get the proper adapter, or a wheel machined for your hub, it's definitely better. For lug-centric wheels, make sure you tighten the bolts incrementally, always going to the opposite nut as you make your way around. I torque mine to 90lbs, and when they take off my wheels at the garage (for some suspension mod or other), I always make sure they tighten/torque them properly.

BTW, let me know if you find any non-Mopar hub-centric wheels. I haven't seen any yet...

Thanks,
js.

When I replaced tires for the first time on my JK, Discount Tire had 110 ft.lbs. torque as the spec in their database. I showed them that the manual said 90 and they tightened to 90 as requested.
Curious bugger that I am, I called Jeep and inquired. I was put on hold and then joined in a 3-way conversation with a line person at the assembly plant; he told me that they torque to 110 pounds when the JK is built and that he recommends 110 at all times.
I torque to a little over 100 now and am running ProComp wheels that are much lighter than stock but are not hub-centric...
