Where to get custom tent fabric or fabrication?

The thought...I would like to build a custom tear drop that has a flip top similar to the "Flip Pac" unit offered by Adventure Trailers. However, I am not really sure where to purchase the "parts" for the tent portion.

I am presently designing the trailer. It will be similar to AT's tear drop, but with a flatter roof surface that flips open to allow for a kid friendly sleeping area.

Any thoughts or suggestion would be outstanding. Thanks. :victory:

why not buy a FP or Wildernest and mount it to a trailer with some side walls?

Thanks for the reply. Not sure if the footprint would work properly. It will need to mate up with the flip top pretty well. Here's my concept I am working on:

getting somebody to make the "tent" portion is no problem. It's the Frame. If you can put a frame together than you should have no problem. I just got off the phone with http://www.acmetentandcanvas.com/ here in Colorado. One of many companies around my area that could do it.

That is a nice design! I have had thoughts about making a pick-up bed szed trailer with a Flip-Pac on it but it would end up being a rather large trailer. Yours looks more compact, plus if you make the "loft" smaller for kids it could make the whole thing smaller. Additionally the kitchen access on the back side is easier.
As you proceed it would be great to see a build thread on this!

Thanks. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I have to accommodate my families' size. Granted the kids are young (see 4 and 7 mo.), but my wife is 6'0" and I am 6'6". The loft area shown is a 72"x72" pad. Perfect for years of growing room. The lower sleeping quarters is 65" w x 84" long. Perfect.

FYI - Contacted SpringBar today. No dice. They stopped making custom units. Mo'money in making standard sizing.
