Which Diehard Platinum for '08 Range and an '06 LR3

I have two, the primary one, which I recommend is the 9A49. Pictured Here, next to the Interstate mentioned. This is the AGM Intimidator line, and what I would recommend. The secondary is the 9A47 AGM Intimidator. Pictured here. You can read the specs off it in the picture link. You can see running voltages for the previous 12 months here. You can probably about guess where the batteries were changed out.

If you go to http://www.dekacatalog.com/ you can enter in the vehicle data and get a list of them with the specifications. The 9A49R (valve regulated) has the vent hole on the side, and the 9AGM49 does not (sealed)

I went with the valve regulated, and plugged in the vent line. The 9AGM49 is not the Intimidator line.

Seems like its time to replace the battery in my LR3 due to a few random and varied fault messages on the dash recently. Been combing through some forums before I make a decision and stumbled upon this.

I find it interesting beginning with post #10/18 on page 1. To be honest, I don't fully understand all of the techy/science stuff, but intrigued enough to inquire if any of you have had negative experiences using a Deka AGM battery in the LR3?

My Interstate MTP-49/H8 from 2012 just bit the dust. Had it replaced for free (minus install).
If it wasn't warrantied I wouldn't have replaced it with the same. I'd get something with 800CCA (MTP II?)
However, the shop told me that it was the first MTP they've ever seen fail...

I would not recommend the interstate. The one in my LR3 lasted 2.5 years. Since previous owners bought it, I had no warranty. Unacceptable for a battery in my book with no discharges.

Went with an AGM from Autozone because I was in a bind and needed a battery that day. Costco only carries Interstate batteries but not the size for the LR3.

Was there a battery "review" on EP yet? There should be like the ones for tires, fridges, recovery gear, cases, etc.

I bought my marine style X2 (rebadged Northstar supposedly) from Batteries Plus based on this test.

Haven't had it very long and don't have any accessories as of yet, so can't provide any first hand insight really. I guess I can't post links yet, so you'll have to work a bit to see the test, sorry.

I'm having issues with my interstate now after only 2 years. HDC/Transmission/Suspension/ETC fault. I edited my previous recommendation. I think I'll be ordering a DEKA 9AGM94R or 9A94R soon once I can figure out which is better for the LR3.
