Mantec for $570 here: http://lucky8llc.com/Products.aspx?ProductID=2237
Terrafirma for $525 : http://lucky8llc.com/Products.aspx?ProductID=7719

I prefer the Mantec because its lighter (aluminium), wider, and the bolts are recessed flush:

Its was also the only option back in 2007, so it was an easy choice for me.

Wow, that is a bunch of money to replace that plastic piece..

I just want to be able to get to the tie down without breaking clips, like I did last winter when it was more than 10 below zero and I needed to lash a ladder to the roof.

But for $500 I can buy a lot of clips. Or buy another plastic piece if I fail while trying to open a hole for the tie down.

It might seem like a lot until you take out the oil sump or something else. Same with a transfer case or gas tank skid - 450 for a skid, or a new tcase?

From the looks of mine, it has paid for itself several times over. Never-mind the hassles of extracting a dead vehicle off the trail. The sliders were 5-6X the price, but also worth every penny!

Except those of us who want access to our front recovery port besides removing and replacing the plastic (or leaving it off), and don't rock climb have no other alternative but to spend serious cash for something that is overkill....

I'm sure it does what it is supposed to, but it is too expensive for me. The factory armor under my oil pan and oil filter has worked great for me. I just want to replace that small plastic piece up front with metal.

So I finally decided to go all the way and replace the entire front bumper with tactical rovers. I am waiting on it to be assembled. Once I receive it I will post a picture. Oh I got the rear too with the tire gate. Sliders are next from tactical rovers.

Not true. Rasta was also fully available in 2007. ~6-8mm ? aluminum. I have the 2 large under belly plates covering the entire front end and transmission plus the radiator guards.

I had full underbody plating from Rasta as well, except for the radiator guards. No sticks around here to poke up into it, so I didn't bother with them.

I had this one on my D3. It was made by RLD off Disco3.co.uk and cost me a whole £125...

It's dented, scraped and has seen plenty of action. I've just sold it on for £125 as i've bought the Mantec Winch guard as i also have bought an external winch mount for the D3.
That also cost me a whole £125.. :D

I will in time get something else that ties with more under body armour but for now it will do nicely.

I installed the tactical 4x4 aka tactical rovers front bumper. It went on without any problems. I can't say enough good things about Eric and his quality products.
