Which trailer axle to match my F150

Sorry, not familiar with adapters. How does it work?

He would need an 8.8 or 9.75. The 8.8 runs about 400.00 and a 9.75 is 800.00+ with out the brakes the last time I went axle shopping. The rear calipers on an F150 are not cheap to buy.

I'd just run a normal trailer axle and use adapters. Torque the adapters down to 90ftlbs and use loctite red. So long as they are properly seated and torqued down, you'll never have a problem with them.

I almost went this route but I needed 2.25" adapters, a new axle was $207 custom built.

I think that modern experts wouldn’t recommending running any number greater than 5, and even then not without proper torque!

You might take a look at "Redneck Trailers". That's where I ordered my axle with electric brakes. You can specify whatever width you need. They ask for the measurement from the hub face on one side to the other. Then they need the width from the center of the spring perches. You can also order it straight, or with a drop.

yep, almost any axle/spring shop can do this
most have a form to flll in the blanks
