Who else will be watching "From the Edge?"

When I said technical info etc.

Kind of like he did when he mentioned shutter speed, a simple fast aperature and high iso would have been sufficient, low depth of field.

The nitty gritty of gear and down to the fine details isn't necessary but talking a little about setting up the shots would have been good info.

I am not a professional - just an amature trying to learn.

This is more of what I was talking about too.

Most photographers who were watchig the show knew what he was talking about when he said "I'm going to shoot a long exposure to allow enough light to get the stars"

But to never even mention his gear, why he shoots at certain times and what are the basics for why and how he's shooting is making the amature think "Oh wow, so all I have to do is put my camera on a tripod and leave the shutter open and I'll be as good as Peter Lik"....HAHA!!

I know the next night at the tiki bar we had a few guests saying things like that which really made me laugh.

Plus he showed the image like it came out of the camera that way. I sat talking to one of the workers in his galery who told me he shoots his stuff and has an entire staff that does the Post Processing of his images. So to make the viewer think it's coming out of the camera that way was very misleading.

That's what I was hoping to see was the entire process from scouting the location, nailing the shot to what goes into the image from camera to being framed and hung in a gallery

LOL Don't need the guy to read out his EXIF data.

Just something like "I'm going to use a telephoto for this view instead of a wide angle so that I can enhance the size of the mountain range in the background." Tid bits like that..

some of the images came out exquisite. He is really big on long exposure, which is cool because I like the effect it has on many images. I agree with Trevor, I could care less about his settings. Really I could care less about his gear as well. Many of these photogs will have a section about gear on a blog or something like Chase Jarvis does if you want to know what they use.
