I remember seeing in a thread someone with Windowsox on their 4runner. I searched but can't find it. I think they said they werre for a pilot but I cant remember. Anyway they sell them in the U.S. now and I want some so if you could fill me in on what type you bought that would be awesome. Thanks.

Why not just buy some mosquito netting and sew some of that magnetic tape into it? The mosquito net made for the side door on my VW runs around $80; it uses snaps to hold it in place. I use a mosquito netting made for cots that I had in Iraq and hold it in place with a couple magnets- total costs about $15. I actually like it better than the manufactured one as it's long so it drapes to the ground and I can push it back like a curtain for easy entry and exit without the snaps.

Doubt the sewing and magnetic strips will hold out while driving on the highway at 60 MPH nor the security of having someone lift these while you are parked. That is if you don't put them on the inside! With this product I assume you can have it on while driving and still get the shade and air flow.

I paid $30 for mine in oz with the exchange rate.
The extra $25 must be for the shipping to N.A. and various towns and making all models the same price for the introduction to the market

Guess I should have looked at the website vs. just reading the post and thinking they were mosquito netting for when you're parked. I fail to see the point in them when you're moving, but honestly it wouldn't be that hard to sew something similar.

The point is added UV protection for rear passengers. It gets pretty dark in the back with window tint plus two layers of the screen. You'd see these all the time on passenger cars parked on the street.

From what i've read, you should be able to leave them on when wheeling too without worrying about rubbing the paint off your door frame. However, I don't want to have to worry about cleaning dust out of them.
