Who takes their Host Mammoth (and similar Lance, Eagle Cap etc) up bad roads?

I'm not talking full axle articulation or such, just lots of wash board, occasional drainage ditch where a "regular" truck would sanely go. I'm concerned the flex of the truck frame will mess with the slides. I realize I could go Full 5500/Total Composites custom etc. But want to strongly consider the room a triple slide provides. So I'm looking for real world examples of big heavy TC nowhere near pavement where the owner didn't regret it.....

I don't know if this will help completely, but, I spent 4 days with a buddy who had a lance truck camper (not sure year or model) with 1 slide on his F350. We went all around Baja. Got stuck in Sand because of the weight and did some off camber stuff. The slide worked during the trip and they worked a year later when we were in Big Sur camping at a state park. Every road we took mighty slow and the off camber sections I got out and spotted and they were all well planned and thought out specifically for the reason you are inquiring about.

He sold the truck and camper for a van so I don't know if they still work but thought I'd throw in my experience.

I guess this just isn't a common thing, or nobody will admit to it :D For reference this is as extreme as I'd ever get (probably more so actually):

I'd rather know now this is a dumb idea then spend a ton of $$ and time only to find out on a trail somewhere that it is....

For me to enjoy exploring around like that, I'd want a beater setup that I didn't have to worry about.

I wouldn’t do something as heavy as your are talking about as any off camber stuff would be pretty unnerving and I imagine washboard roads would not be good for slides. I am running about as heavy I want to be with an older Lance 815 hardside and 6.2 Super Duty for back country travel. Center of gravity is low for a hard side and it is pretty light (around 2k wet and ready for a trip).

I have been doing that since 2017. First was a Host mammoth on a Ram 3500, then put in on a Ram 5500. Sold that, went Host cascade on new Ram 5500. Wife liked the bath in cascade better. My house is on a road that is like the one in the video. I have lived in the country all my life. Dirt/gravel roads are normal. Go the speed that is appropriate for the conditions. When slides are in they are fully supported. Not sure what the concern is there.
