Who's running 255/85's on a 16X8 rim?

So while I Have miles and miles to go on my 295 Nitto's I keep thinking better mpg's perhaps with 255's. While my Stock 16X7 rims would accommodate no problem a 255 I wondered what a 255 mounted on a 16X8 would look like.

I don't have 255s mounted on 16x8" now, but did back when I owned a 2005 TJ Unlimited.

I had two sets of stock "Moab" wheels which were 16x8". I ran a few different sets of 255/85 on these wheels without issue, including plenty of low PSI off-highway work (12-16 PSI) too.

They looked fine and will work well too. Shouldn't be a problem.

As far as asthetics go, I think you will be happier with the look of a 16x7... Plus I just want you to put your factory wheels back on.

The expeditionswest doublecab was running those on 16x8 steelies. I ran mine on 16x7 stockers, but 16x8 shouldn't be a problem. However, i'll be running 235/85 next, and am switching to a 16x7 '07 tacoma rim to not stretch out the tire much.

Ha well the current wheels are factory (for a LX450) I will likely never go back to the stocker ones she came with I like the LX's way more.

I believe that Willman is running this size combo as well on his Tacoma.
