Let's all be peaceable now...and listen to the music, (concept? "Absolute-ly")
there is no chance the can sell this for $50k or even in mid $40K.Bringing a vehicle to a market is a lot more expensive than just freight logistics; they have to make changes to the vehicle to meet local regulation (even if it's 100% "safe" enough, every country has unique lighting and equipment requirements) , distribute parts and tool inventory to their dealer network, train their dealer network, include advertising and the whole legal framework around that machine - that's pretty easy to be another $50 million on top of just the mechanics of simply freighting some vehicles in. So if they want to amortize that hypothetical $50m additional investment over 5 years they have to roll 10 million in extra profit into sales every year. That would mean tacking $1k extra onto the price of every sales transaction if they sell 10k units per year, plus the price of the vehicle plus the chicken tax.
A Pajero Sport Exceed in Australia is about $40kUSD so plus chicken tax, plus extra $1k to offset the investment in bringing it here.. they'd be north of $50k USD for a vehicle that would lose or match most numerical metrics to a $35k 4runner on top of fighting an up-hill battle on brand value. You tell me if they'd sell.
