Why I Bought a Ford F250 Tremor for a Four Wheel Campers Hawk UTE

Re: larger replacement gas tank. According to a FTE post, the good news is, for 2017+ F2/350 CCSB gas trucks a 58 gal Transfer Flow tank is in the works ...

Very good news, thanks for sharing! I'll pass it onto others looking for similar.
I couldn't wait however, so I had their 60gal custom fitted to my '19 F350 CrewCab 4WD 6.2L w/ 6.75' bed already. Working like a treat, so thankful to have over 700mi of range!

Yeah I've read of people doing that on the tremor forum. Probably several more people on the major ford forums that aren't tremor specific. Harness and then a couple grand for the lights IIRC.

Seems like they stomp aftermarkets, including Morimotos (which I always thought were king). Many have attested to this since people that bought less than their perfect trucks have upgraded after just 1-3 years of ownership. Either balling out of control or can't resist the stupid cash dealers are willing to pay. I know a flashlight duct taped to the hood would be better than Ford halogens but I'd probably be happy with Anzos and top tier LED bulbs for $550 like I did with my F150. Then again, I've never understood spending $2k on baja designs products.
Baja Designs are top tier. I had them on my gen2 Raptor and then took 2 of the 3 lights and put them on my 2022 Tremor. They are pricey because they are worth it. I will run BD lights on every single vehicle I own for the rest of my life.

Agreed on Baja's.
And my '19 F350 with the TRS/Morimoto XB LED headlights are really damn good. Of course us '17-19 F-Series can't go with the '22 Tremor lights due to the different center grille design.

I have the S&B 60 gal tank in my 2022 F350 PowerStroke Tremor and absolutely love the range it gives me especially when towing.

Indeed, game changer!

Great write up.
I placed my order for a 2022 7.3l F-250 Tremor back in late January with the similar plan of going to 37” tires and a Carli suspension. I really wish I had seen and read this thread before I placed my order, but fortunately I was lucky and seem to have made the right decisions based on what I’ve read here. I ordered the LED Headlights, dual alternators, winch, Tremor running boards and upfitter switches. I guess I could have done without the tonneau cover, but I can hock it later if I decide to.
Can’t wait to receive the truck and start swapping out the suspension.

Awesome, can't wait to follow your build! What other options would you have added if you had seen this thread?
Check out my build thread for pic of Carli susp on now. And 37s just arrived...

I'm actually pretty happy with the options I got for my truck. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted when I ordered, I just wish I had seen this thread to confirm what I already knew so I wasn't constantly wondering if I missed or ordered something unnecessary. The only thing I ever 2nd guess on my build is going for the 7.3 instead of the 6.2, but when I test drove the two trucks I just felt like the 7.3 was a little more nimble and would handle better off road. I rarely need to tow and the truck isn't my daily so I'm not too concerned about the mpg.
That's funny, I was just looking at your build thread last night. Great rig. I'm interested in hearing how the pintop handles with the weight of your camper, I'm either going with that or the e-venture. After running Bilsteins on my last truck and being disappointed the last thing I want to do is cut corners on suspension.

The Carli/SDi E-Venture electronic dampers are cool technology, but I personally like to K.I.S.S. whenever I can, and electronically operated shocks don't fit not that category IMHO. YMMV.

Agreed, and I wouldn’t want the first generation of them as it is.

when I built mine just a few months ago, they didn’t have a gasser version anyway, and weren’t sure they would. They didn’t sound super enthused on the phone about the tech.

Good points both. I've been leaning towards the Pintop setup as its tried and true but I'm intrigued.

Yeah, I called CJC a couple weeks ago and they didn't have a timeline yet either. I still won't take delivery of my truck until the fall (I hope) so it might be available by then, but the cost may be prohibitive. Along with the Pintop being a proven system and available for purchase, I think the E-venture's cons might outweigh whatever pro's there might be.

Let the electronic stuff make its way through its first gen teething issues and growing pains before making that jump. The King stuff from both Carli and Thuren is a well sorted known quantity and more than enough for any of us.
