why jerry cans?

I went down to the local Swiss Army surplus shop, and got 5x 20L /5Gallon Military Issue for 5.-- chf each.. about $4.50 each.. these are used but in perfect condition.. Swiss Army is a reserve army.. anyway, they work great.. a bit heavey but I've never used the plastic military cans.. back when I was in the US Army we also used the metal cans.. Anyway.. 80 bucks for a can is theft..

We used plastic cans in the military for years. Not the cheapo- wal-mart type but the real heavy duty type of plastic cans (don't know what they're called.)

Only thing I'm not sure about is whether they'll work for gasoline. The US military has been all diesel for at least 20 years (with the exception of a few generator sets) so it wasn't an issue with us.

When I saw the picks from tag187 I though he was using his kool box to carry water cans in it.. when I started out in the Army we had metal water cans then plastic one, brown and black.. marked "Water" on them.. even seen them in Orage.. now they macke them for "Fuel* kool.. lighter then the metal ones.. and you say they cost 80 bucks.. wtheck

80 bucks is crazy:Wow1: I mean reall why pay that much money for something when all Uncle Sam wants is for you to sign the dotted line and bam all the jerry cans you want for free!!!:ylsmoke: Hey thats how I got mine
