Winch anchor and High lift style jack in one.

Undesigned forces?

I am worried your setup might place loads on the high lift that it wasn't designed for. It looks like your design attaches a lever arm to the jaw of the jack that is several times longer than the jaw, possibly increasing the forces on the jaw several fold? Also, I can't tell by the side shot, but it appears you may be using the hole under the top of the jaw for a structural part of your anchor mount? As I understand it the hole is only to keep accessories from sliding off the jaw, and is not rated to hold things to the full rating of the jack itself. I am sure that others with more knowledge of engineering/physics than myself could give you a more certain answer. As an ex Suzuki Samurai owner, I commend you on your efforts to lighten the load.

bang - oh crap

are the first three words I can think of

also as per all of above plus

Bolts are too small- they will shear
no bracing between the anchor and the main bar the upright will just fold and distort

A stuck jeep can stall an 8000lbs winch

that item pictured will just pull apart and you'll have a highlift heading your way

Theres more to a product than thinking it up and setting a price.

Funnily enough with winch and rescue gear I'd expect the supplier to test the said item to a specific pull test.

For example a nylon lifting sling has a 1-5 safety factor

could a launched high lift be a danger......err yes

So what do you think your system should be tested to ?

based on a basic 8000lbs winch........

Also on the site here pretty sure theres another high lift jack handle anchor thread here somewhere

here you go

Edit I see that link was already posted

Thanks for all the input. It will all be taken in consideration as the product is being developed. We have found that the jacks leverage is increase if we make the jack body stable and move only the mechanism with the load attached. Pictures will follow. This means that we attach the anchor plate to the main jack body at the upper receiver holes. And attach the chain to the hook as it was designed.
