Winter 2009 Frozen Waterfalls

Some frozen waterfall shots from this winter. I'm heading out today to get shots of a few others. I wish I had something in here for scale..these things are huge.

For scale, from last winter, this is Munising Falls which is just a tad larger than the above falls in height.

This is about as close as you can get around Tucson. LOL

Chiva Falls - not frozen flow but nicly iced rocks around the base.

So we went for it today and hiked in to Miners Falls. Talk about working up a sweat in the middle of winter :elkgrin:

But worth it. What an awesome frozen waterfall...
Those are full grown trees at the top.

They climb quite a few ice formations here, but I've never watched much of it. We have a Winterfest that just recently started last year and hopefully I'll get to see some of the events.

Miners Falls is a pretty big waterfall for our area...and to see it frozen is definitely "worth the hike" :)
