WK2?

Love my 15!

Just picked up a '15 Overland with Hemi. Traded my Rubicon because my dog died and I wanted to take road trips with the new puppy and the Rubicon on 37's sucked for that. Its amazing how quiet and how nice the GC drives. I miss the Rubicon, but not that much. I won't take this off road much, but it will be fine in the sand and light trails and snow. Even with the Hemi it gets better gas mpg than the Rubicon. Plus its a beautiful vehicle and I have zero desire to mod it other than floor liners and I just put in the Canvasback to protect from new puppy. Might swap tires to an AT, but not if it will destroy the ride quality. No regrets so far.

Both are beautiful! I love the two tone, is that stock? Both of you should check out Grand Slam West. We have had a few WK2's join us.

Anyone here rocking a newer Grand Cherokee? I love the looks of the 75th anniversary model and am considering upgrading to that. I'll be doing on road driving 90% of the time, and just doing some minor off roading to camps and such.

ive considered replacing the WK I have now with a WK2 when the time comes, im still on the fence when it comes to reliability- id love to get one with a quadralift, but I still don't know how I feel about it. I do know when it comes ill be getting a hemi, a buddy of mine that is a jeep tech said that thing is amazing in the WK2. smooth, gobs of power, gets the same mileage on the highway as the V6 if not better. my thing is I want my next vehicle to be solid out the box- the only mods I intend to do is a set of tires and maybe shocks to my next rig, which I think would help the WK2 a good bit with minor offroading

I would like to add tires, but in the 20" size they are harder to come by. I really like my black wheels so I won't be changing them. Less sidewall also helps with handling. I don't off road enough to worry about it right now. I bought my GC for long distance trips and everyday comfort. It has 4X4 with all the goodies, but that will mainly be used in sand and snow. The Hemi is really nice. I definitely don't think with all this technology that it will be a long term vehicle.

I have a 2011 WK2 on 18 inch wheels (smallest I could get due to the larger brakes) running metric size that equals to 32's on stock ride height. I do have the QuadraDrive II which is AMAZING for traction and the Quadralift which is does work well when offroading and comes in handy if you DD your vehicle but costly to fix when (not if) it breaks. - Already had to replace one of the front airstruts which cost me just over $2k with nitrogen refill. So I would advise against it. Overall it has been a great vehicle and the Hemi has enough power for almost anything.

That's why I'm leasing this GC. I don't trust all the technology.

I've got a 2014 WK2 Overland Diesel and use it as your description. We have done the Bulldog Canyon in AZ last January and found the rig to be more capable than the driver!

2016 diesel here, and lovin it. It is decent off road, for a stock rig. I put 275/55 AT tires on the 20" rims and they protect the rims better. Very comfortable ride.

Have a WK2 and a Wrangler. Both are great vehicles for what they are intended for. Though, I feel better dragging the bottom of the wrangler over rocks than the WK2.

In regards to cargo space... We just found out recently that we can pack as much crap into the Wrangler as we can in the WK2. The Wrangler to me feels nicer to pack due to the walls going straight up vs the WK2 with a trapezoid shaped cargo area.

I traded in my brand new GC with Hemi for a 2 door Willy's. I loved the ride of the GC, but it is boring to me. It was way too nice to take off road and it's sounds like an arcade with all its stupid safety features and noises. I missed the personality of the the Wrangler. The GC looks great, but it's too much money and too nice for my taste.

2014 Diesel with 104,000 miles. So far so good and yes 275/55 AT's are the way to go for 20" rims.

Nice! Got any pictures of your rig? My plan is also to get to 100K, and eventually much farther beyond. How has your WK2 Diesel been running so far, any issues?
