Woot! Deal pending on 2004 Land Cruiser

Assuming everything checks out in the 3rd party inspection I still have to get scheduled, I've made a deal on a Black 2004 Land Cruiser in Arkansas with only 91,000 miles!

It's gonna be a long drive back to Idaho :)

Any suggestions on inspectors in the Fayetteville area?

Thanks - now I just have to nail down a reputable place to do an inspection. It's a bit of a challenge finding a local outfit that lists "pre-purchase inspection" in their services. The gold standard would be finding someone who knows LC's.

lol - nice :) The closest place I see there that looks reputable wants you to bring your car to them. Which, may not be a big deal, but for the seller's sake I was hoping to make it easier and go with a mobile unit.

IH8mud?

As good as this community is, there are a helluva lot of LandCruiser owners on the Mud forums and a lot of them live the Southeast.

Good luck.

Good point, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to some of the AR local Cruiserheads to do a precursory look.

Thanks guys - I've got the inspection sorted out now. Just waiting to hear back. Hoping it goes well!

If it goes through, then I see an 1800 mile road trip in my near future!

I bought mine from a Lexus dealer in SLC but they drove it to me in Idaho for the inspection. It worked out well. I'd bought it at the end of 2010 (2002 LX) and it had something like 67k from a one owner family who lived in Vegas and had a place in Jackson. It was their commute rig. I'm able to service it (it's needed nothing but oil changes) at the local Toyo dealer and still only has 82k on it.

Best of luck with yours!

Just finalized everything and I'll be flying to Arkansas next Thursday to pick up the rig. Black 2004 LC w/ 90k.

First mod? Replace all interior lighting with red LEDs. I do a lot of driving at night and after doing the same mod in my 2002 Tundra, it made a big difference. Amazingly, that 2002 Tundra w/ 182,000 miles still has the factory pads, rotors and has never needed brake work. The local Toyota dealership here still is surprised that everything still has 50% or so life left on it. I've never owned a vehicle where I could go more than 30-40k between brake work except for that vehicle.
