Work in Progress - 2003 H2

After a bit of shopping around, I picked up a 2003 H2 in July. It's been mostly stock up until recently. How it looked when I bought it:

Shortly after getting it I picked up a set of 35x12.5 17 BFG KM2s and had a Flowmaster muffler installed.

What I've added recently:
Warn Winch Bumper to house a Mile Marker 9500 lb winch that I've had since '08 but never mounted

Spare tire carrier from eBay (not an OEM take off or even an SMA, but it works).

Baja Rack MegaMule roof rack. I went with the Baja for a couple of reasons. One was the price - $348. It also mounts to the factory crossbars (I did have to get slightly longer carriage bolts). I like that it's only 48 inches wide which keeps the Hi-Lift and axe/shovel combo in-board. Also ordered 2 dual Jerry can mounts (only 1 showed up, the other is enroute), one for a pair of Scepter fuel cans and the other for a pair of Scepter water cans.

Gobi ladder. I'll likely add another on the passenger side.

Now - for the pics!

In the above pic you can see my GPS puck above the passenger side front window and the CB antenna over the driver side front window.

Still have to install my dual battery setup and I'm trying to sort out what I want to do as far as interior storage. I'm also thinking of adding some more lights (floods front and rear).

As far as running gear, I am planning to get some beefier tie rods (either Rare Parts or Kryptonites), but I don't plan on messing with much else.

honestly i haven't really ever liked h2's, but i really like the way yours looks with the sliders the roof rack and the ladder. It really gets pulled together and looks like it could go anywhere. makes me want to like h2's now haha. is that ladder universal or is it made just for the h2? Good build so far, look forward to seeing more!

I dont like the looks of the stock H2's, but love them with a few mods. Yours looks great. Can't wait to see some more updates.

Great job so far.

I don't plan on doing much to the suspension. I've heard from a couple of vendors that Cognito/Fabtech have gone to outsourcing some manufacturing to China. My understanding is their stuff is fine for mall crawling, but some of their products are no longer suitable for even mild off road use, particularly their tie rods.

As much as I would like to say I don't like H2's, I am GLAD to see one being used how it is meant to be used. Nice rig bro!

Im glad to see other people with hummers here!:wings: It's not too common to see a hummer fit right and used how they should be anymore
