second thought... will it still beacon APRS :coffeedrink:, case closed if so (I'm guessing not, because the GPS and Radio units are separate and would both need to be turned on at the same time)

It won't still beacon unless they happen to hit the right button after powering up. I didn't set it to beacon unless I was heading out on a trip, and then I'd usually start position reporting after I get on the road. No sense in making it easy to find where I live. The way the Greenlight Labs GPS works is that you have to have power to the radio but the radio doesn't need to be turned on. I'm hoping that insurance isn't too much of a hassle. They said they only cover stuff permanently attached to the vehicle. I think this qualifies, but who knows what their definition of "permanently attached" is. Luckily I've got lots of before and after pictures.

As someone who really respects the amount of work that went into a project like that I absolutely hate the fact someone would rip it out. Just makes me sick as I would be devastated.
