Interesting. I better forward this to my friends that own one of these.

When their flop of a dual band mobile came out, I made a simple announcement on my web site that I would not be selling it because it did not meet my expectations. Even though I didn't say it was the piece of junk it really was, Wouxun still took offense and decided they would no longer have dealings with me. For the past two years, I've continued to sell their radios, buying them directly from the factory under an assumed name.

I feel like I am misunderstanding something, here. Apparently, he was happy to profit from selling what he considered junk, but now that the support costs have come home to roost, he refuses to support his customers ?

I have two of the Wouxun KgUV3d radios and haven't experienced that problem, however the 3d radios come through Powerwerx, and they are sold at Ham Radio Outlet. Hopefully they have more clout with Wouxun than Ed. It will take awhile for China to figure out the warranty problem with independent dealers directly in the US, and they really need a national distribution network to service dealers. At the price point though, these radios, and the Baofengs as well, become throwaways anyway if they break.

I have 2 of these. None of this makes a difference to me. If they take a crap, I guess I will toss them.

I have a whole bunch of the KG-UV2D around. No worries here. No problems either. Still serving me very well :) Always viewed them as disposable. Never thought they would go through what they have and survive. They owe me nothing at this point.
I bought most if not all from Ed. Great to work with. Sad he had to break the relationship with Wouxun, but I understand the need.
I think if I need another inexpensive small radio, I will need to do more research. I am covered for now though :)

I bought mine from cheapham.com. I was treated very well. Shipping was like lightning. I even did a group buy and all worked well.
