What is going on with that low hanging rear bumper?

The inside is nice, more than nice, it is beautiful. But the outside does not make sense.

I think this is a very very sweet deal! Knowing Unicat, you will get the highest quality, most durable expedition vehicle possible.

i hate how long that hood is... a rather ugly truck reminds me of one of these..

re rear bumper

I believe that the bumper pivots and is in the down, or, road position. It then pivots forward to improve the departure angle, but leaving the rear vulnerable to rear-end accident.

The rear bumper folds up fo offroad use.

It's referred to as a "compatibility" requirement in France, to stop the car behind before the truck's bodywork goes through your windscreen and squashes your face.
The ones on the back of tipper trucks here are hydraulically retracted from within the cab.
I fancy going one step further and using mine as a levelling jack/park stabiliser.
3 positions instead of 2.
Bit that's another subject.
What surprises me is that Unicat should even need to put their demonstrator up on the bay. I would have thought that a potential customer might jump at a half price model that's never been abused.
Unless they don't have any customers, other than Charlie. If that's the case the margin they made out of you has kept them going for a while :-b
No I'm kidding don't flame me off the forum.
Excellent as their product may be, it must still be pretty tough to justify the extra in such a small and specific market.

This isn't Unicat Europe selling it, it is Avi Meyers. It would be totally inappropriate for me to speculate about his decisions.
You will note that on the Unicat main site there are usually 3 or 4 vehicles for sale. They drop the price to quite reasonable levels after a few months if they don't sell. Note, for instance, the 4.5m MAN raising roof model.

But all the current rigs on the main Unicat site are non-USA models.
I actually got a pretty good deal on mine, but I'd rather not discuss the details in public.

Very nice but it does lack curb appeal. Just sayin

The photo was shot with a wide lens that emphasizes the cab. While it's not a beautiful truck/camper combo the photos on the unicat site look better.

I have a "road bumper" that attaches to the hitch receiver. For commercial vehicles in the U.S. there are clear bumper requirements. But I notice trucks like Charlie's don't have a regular rear bumper (from the photos I've seen). I would like to know what is required in the U.S. on RV plates.

The reason for selling the MXT-based camper is that, after this camper was built, International decided not to continue selling the MXT to the public. I'd say there's probably less out there in America than North-American-spec U500s. Also, the MXT really doesn't offer anything that a F450/550 doesn't, right down to the same engine in similar vintage Fords.

And as nice as Unicats are, GXV kills their market in America based on price.
