That's what I opted for. So far, I have one complete spare unit (wheel bearing with mounting bolts in place and hub already pressed in). I still need to pick up a second hub so I can put together another complete set.If you really want to do a front wheel bearing change on a 2nd Gen Tacoma in the field, you shoud just carry a spare bub with the bearing already installed. Otherwise you'd have to be pretty creative with some sort of a press you could use in the field.
After doing both front wheel bearings in my Tacoma, I can't imagine trying to do that in the field. I took mine to an automotive machine shop and they used a 30-ton press to get the hubs out and back in. I read somewhere on TTORA about a guy who claimed he was able to do a field repair by hammering the hub out of the old bearing and into the new one using a block of wood as a support. If you're going to carry a spare bearing, IMO might as well go ahead and get the hub and 4 bolts and have a complete unit.
