Wrangler beats FJ Cruiser in final test

Truck Trend got their collective hands on a Wrangler Unlimited and the final version of the FJ Cruiser. The FJ had TRD's trick suspension gear, making it both $5000 more expensive than the Jeep, and better at driving fast over rutted gravel roads. When it came to the slow spped rough stuff, the Jeep was king. (Note the Wrangler Unlimited was not a Rubicon model.) In the final analysis, the Truck Trend folks chose the Jeep as the better vehicle.

These guys also found the Wrangler Rubicon to be the king out of all the trucks offered with 'off-road' packages from the factory including the Raptor, Power Wagon, 4Runner Trail Edition, Tacoma Baja, Xterra and Frontier PROX-4.

I never really cared for the newer Wranglers (too much wanna-be stigmata) but after reading this and also reading the specs on it I have a new found respect for them and for the Frontiers.

Not a real world test in my view, not fir most of us that own vehicles long term. Own it for a few years and then see which one is "better". I currently own a Wrangler and am a former Land Cruiser owner, sold with 190k miles on it. I like my Jeep with 30k miles on it but would never own it with the LC kinda miles on it.
