How did the Durango fare? 15" or 16" wheels?

We had one growing up, a 2001 SLT with the 4.7 V8

It was a fairly nice truck for the few years we had it, bad on gas. We didn't take it on anything more tough than a graded dirt road though.

16s. It's riding on 285/75R16 Toyo ATs. His has a 318 or 360 I believe. Aside from the tranny overheating a few times, it did really well. Nothing broken or any problems really. However, he did have a much harder time in the deeper snow than my 235s did. It would wander all over and bog down easier, but then he didn't air down at all. I still think the wider tire was just giving him more trouble though.

Yeah his tires are two inches wider than yours, that would really bring down the contact patch pressure, not allowing him to cut down to the hardpac road surface as well as you could

Congrats man! What a nice place to propose! :clapsmile

Sounds like a great snow run too, I wish we had that kind of scenery here with the snow and all.

Thanks man! I'm happy as could be. She certainly is as well. It was really the perfect place to propose, for both of us. She's falling in love with overlanding just as much as I am. She's even loving the driving part! She was a pretty big backpacker before, so it's not a big leap. She's actually encouraging of my truck build too! Yup, lucky dude :)

And thanks for tuning in! There's plenty more where that came from. I really appreciate your input and your comments! I am a big fan of your thread as well!

Thank you my friend! Like I said, it was special to the both of us!

The snow was just a blast. The trail is normally a pretty easy and straightforward run, but the addition of the snow just amps the trail up quite a bit on the difficulty scale.

Thank you! Congrats to you as well! Now that sounds like one hell of a great honeymoon! Hmmmm.... I'll have to bring that one up.... :D

The wedding is a long way out, so there's plenty of time to plan!

Beautiful story, congrats :)

Thanks man!
