They do have the cans but do not ship to Ca., best of luck finding one. I have a friend in Ca. who wanted them also but waited too long to try and order them.

Ya know , I am getting sick of California outlawing everything. Its a dang gas can for gosh sakes....can't carry concealed, can't four-wheel here, can't can't can't...this is cantafornia. I need to retire and move to AZ or NV.

Any other places to get them ??

It's not just CA, Scepter is no longer offering the MFC's for civilian sale anywhere... the whole US is going CARB compliant.

Funny thing is, everyone I've talked to says they spill MORE fuel using the new CARB compliant cans than they ever did with the old style... go figure.

... not sure how long it takes. Most of this kind of stuff doesn't happen in all states unless the Feds unilaterally force a mandate. I have heard this before, and hope it doesn't fully materialize.

Uhm, I'm told that Brigade will ship it to you anyway.

Read their order agreement. They specify that it's the buyers responsibility to know if it's legal to order it or not. Something like that.

I ordered a can and spout, so we'll see if I get one.

I sent emails to Paul May at Equipt and Nathan at Pangea, maybe they know something.

I came up empty at Sierra Expeditions and that surprised me since they can get everything else in the world :)

What about the NATO cans ? Are they any good ? I found a place online out of Chico that has them for 20 bucks plus shipping.

Yep 100% agree about spilling. Trail Monkey had a pair of brand new CARB cans on his AT trailer he picked up right before our Mojave trip. I happened to order a pair of Scepter Mil version from Paul at Equip1 and had them shipped to friend in Navada and got them the night before we hit the trail.

Both of us filled up our cans at the same place and put in about 4.5 gallons each, hoping neither set would leak. After two days and 100 miles across the Mojave Road, his two can had leaked all over themselves and the trailer. Mine, on top of our trailer had not leaked a drop.

Next we filled up our rigs and his dribbled and leaked plus took forever to drain into the Jeep. Mine not only did not leak a drop, they dumped the fuel in faster then filling up at the gas station. This was using the Scepter fuel nozzle.

We were both trying to figure out what the heck CARB is thinking as my "non CARB" cans were much more environmentally friendly then these "CARB" version.

Is this progress??? :coffee:
