I had a 1998 F-150. Unfortunately,I had the 4.6 engine. My Callen with the 1/4 cabover and heavy ass rack bogged that sucker down so badly. Zero power, mpg and the trans hunted constantly. Wrong engine. I sold it six months later for a 98.5 Ram 5.9 Cummins. Yeah, very few Callens in San Diego for sale. I visited the guy's shop who bought the business. Jim Callen was working and showing him the ropes. Beautiful workmanship but too many man hrs. He did the right thing and finished the orders but went under. Real nice guy. I felt so bad for him.Callen market has been bone dry the last few months. I'm always on the hunt for a callen and there have been very few.
haha the truck in my avatar is a 98 with the 4.6...soooo under powered it was a joke. I used to go to NAU for school and a few of the mountain ranges I had to time perfectly in order to keep it at 3k RPM. A few times I had to pull over onto the shoulder and get it back to 1st gear and then creep up the mountain slowly. Great engine if not loaded down. Consistently got 15 MPG and lasted me about 230k!Yep.
