I thought the frame was thicker, axles more heavy duty, brakes upgraded, etc.

What someone above wrote is accurate about no difference, but for springs, between the 250 and 350 in the 99-03 vintage.

Had I realized this when I purchased my F350 in 99 I would have gotten a 250 and saved a few bucks with yearly DMV registration weight surcharge.

Any 99 built after April 99 is known as a 99.5, which has a few improvements that were continued until the 7.3 was phased out. Also some differences in the front brakes/hub.

So you can likely expand your search to include 99.5 trucks and include F250s.

I like your taste in trucks. If you plan on going into Mexico stay with the pre 2003 diesels. Love my flatbed 7.3, it’s more than I need nowadays with the boat in a slip and the camper collecting dust. That said, I love heading out with a tent and the flatbed loaded up with toys while doing 80 over the Grapevine and still getting 17mpg. 6.7 can do that as well and will have a better ride while doing it,

but wil cost you.

The Weight Ratings are different depending on the Options (GVWR)
The load ratings for the tires is different depending on the model.

My F550 limo bus has the same engine and transmission as the F250.

F250 single vs the F350 dually (DRW ) has major differences.
F250 SRW to F350 SRW they are very similar

I have a 99 F350, as long as the truck is regularly used, the seals aren't an issue. Lots of other things are...but the seals aren't, lol.

I agree with you as long as the truck is driven regularly, but some of the low mileage trucks haven't been used regularly. I'm not interested in high mileage, older trucks at all.

Wow. 500K mile major service interval on the 6.7 is amazing.
