Okay, not having much luck perusing classifieds, and I need something within the next couple of weeks, so here it goes:
The basic section:
Wanted: 1995 Isuzu Trooper, low miles, MANUAL 5 speed transmission, straight frame/no accidents, completely rust free; always maintained with records or other proof, neat and clean interior (I hate upholstery tears, but otherwise don't care whether it's leather or fabric, as long as it's clean), exterior without damage (but light pinstriping/scratches okay), and everything works correctly. Prefer a California or other SW vehicle, with current CA registration, and I might be willing to travel regionally if the right vehicle is there.
Thoughtful off road mods a potential plus, but stock is fine. Existing off road tires in good shape a plus.
Other considerations section:
I'll consider other model years if they meet the above requirements.
I'll also consider a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero that otherwise meets the same requirements, or, possibly, another make/model that falls roughly within the same price bracket (i.e., around or below $3k, which is roughly fair market value for the vehicles I'm looking at) and meets the above requirements.
When hell freezes over / punk feeling very lucky section:
I've got a dead, thoughtfully/lightly expo-prepped 2001 Jeep WJ 60th Anniversary with a dead 4.7 V8 that I've got to get rid of. It's got a more or less complete, brand new MX-6/OME/UpCountry suspension/steering setup, KOR rock sliders, JKS front discos and Bridgestone Dueler Revos with LOTS of life left. It also has some light body damage--mostly on bumpers/valances. I was planning to install steel bumpers so I wasn't concerned.
If the impossible should come to pass and there is someone with the Isuzu I want looking for a dead WJ, let's make a deal!:wings:
