WTB: Jeep Scrambler frame

Looking for a clean usable frame for a Scrambler. I have a complete new body and everything else needed for a build.

I'd like to find the right frame asap, I have a year to complete the build for my son and his wife to be for a wedding gift. If you have one please PM a contact number and asking price, pics would be appreciated as well.

Thanks..
John

If you're not already committed on the CJ driveline, you might shop for YJ parts. I just made a Scrambler frame out of two YJ frames. I cut them so there's only one splice in the middle, and then used some of the leftover straight section and rear crossmember to extend the rear. Came out nice. Only hitch so far: CJ driveline is offset to the left about 1.5" to clear the right side driveshaft. YJ is offset about 1" to the right to clear the left side driveshaft. I'm running a CJ front axle and d300 t-case, so I slid the engine over and re-drilled the trans mounts, but if I did it again, I'd just go with a 4.0L YJ driveline and be done with it!! Good luck!

Hi Chris, thanks for the input.

I have a new WO body and a clean 94 YJ i'll be combining for this build. My son has always been a fan of the YJ's, so the idea now is to copy a South American YJ-L.

I hadn't realized the drivetrane centerline issue through.. i'll look deeper into that, thanks.

Sounds like you would just need a YJ rear frame- like from one that wrecked up front. Then you'd be into all YJ components, which should negate the allignment problems Chris mentioned... and that guy know how to make a Scrambler.

Hope it helps. I do not know anything about it. Just found it and figured I would pass it I. To you. It is just north of Salt Lake City Utah.
