Thats a lot of dough for a non passthrough, stock fuel tank expedition camper. Can hardly call it a expedition vehicle, with a stock tank what's the range... 200 miles?

Have you considered a 2500/3500 4x4 and a trailer? Leave the trailer on your outings and take the truck. The truck could even be used to get to and from work.

I would probably do an AEV Prospector XL. Then build it out how it best suit your adventuring needs. Cummins would be able to bumper pull a nice trailer. Could be as simple as a roof top tent over the bed, maybe a goose gear rear seat delete or even a full on PCOR flat bed with or without their canopy storage boxes.
