WTB: LR3 HSE Also Advice Needed

First time poster here. Some of the guys from Defender Source told me to check this site out and that my inquires may be more appropriate for this site.
So....here I am.

I've never had a newer Rover before (by newer I mean anything in the 2002+ range). I currently own 3 Defenders and a 95' RRC LWB, and a 97' D1. I've been all around the Land Rover realm through the years with more rovers than I can count but now I am looking for an LR3 to add to the arsenal. I should say that this is going to be more of my daily driver (used more than all the others to be more accurate). I've been pricing them in all conditions for months and pretty much know what I'm looking for but would appreciate some insight on a few topics listed below as well as any leads on trucks that may fit my budget. Also, please feel free to copy me on any threads that may be helpful.

1. Budget is $15,000 and under. For me, it would have to be really a killer deal and lower miles for me to spend that much.
2. Year 2007-2009 Preferably 2008 HSE with under 100K miles (slightly over if the price is right)
3. Color: black with beige interior or white with beige interior (may consider a silver but nothing else)
4. Minimum owners with clean history and preferable maintenance records
5. Non smoker is mandatory
6. I'll ship from anywhere in CONUS but living in NC, East Coast would be nice.

I realize I'm asking for a lot for little price point but after following all the listing sites and keeping a good log of sales, conditions, etc.... I definitely feel I can make it all happen. I don't need it tomorrow but would prefer to get one sooner than later.

So, with all that said, any leads would be helpful and appreciated.

As far as advice and feedback from current and past LR3 owners, I've got some general questions having never had one before:

1. Are there certain typical Land Rover quirks that LR3's have and need sorting?
2. Problems to look out for and questions to ask when buying if certain things have been done that are known to be problematic on these trucks?
3. Are certain years better than other years? If so, what are the main differences to make that year better?
4. Overall reliability? Knowing its a Land Rover and the two terms don't generally match up, I'm curious how often are LR3 needing repairs, etc....
5. Anything else that may be helpful would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to your replies!

Cheers!
Chris

Nothing specific that seems to go wrong in my research at least nothing that major.

2. Problems to look out for and questions to ask when buying if certain things have been done that are known to be problematic on these trucks?

Other than the typical used car stuff make sure to check the air suspension for leaks. Any part of a LR3 that is neglected will rot/fail.

3. Are certain years better than other years? If so, what are the main differences to make that year better?

Pretty much the same with minor differences. I'd prefer a enthusiast owned 05' over a run of the mill 09'.

4. Overall reliability? Knowing its a Land Rover and the two terms don't generally match up, I'm curious how often are LR3 needing repairs, etc....

Think of it this way. The LR3 needs attention/preventative maintenance and if given that will give you years of reliable service.. It's a very tough vehicle with sensitivity to voltage/bad battery, air suspension is pretty tough but you must maintain the compressor(simple), and "Lifetime fluid drivetrain" is pure bullshi* if it takes oil then change it.

5. Anything else that may be helpful would be appreciated.

You NEED the IIDtool. Figure it into your purchase price. It will literally pinpoint any issue you have, clear stupid nonsense, give you a maximum lift when needed, and allow you to DIY like a pro. If you don't have time to DIY it will at least keep you from getting ripped off by the dealer/indy mechanic.

i Really like my LR3. I am looking to trade it or sell it. I need another truck for work purposes. I got the Rover from a dealer in NC that does repairs on Land Rovers and other brands as well. They also own them as well. I bought mine after all the research and worries of this issue or that. But it has been a great truck. My LR3 had new control arms, air compresore done before I purchased it. It was well maintained before hand as well. I have a set of the johnson top rods to go on it. I have not installed them yet. I think you will enloy the LR3. I will be sellinh mine soon. It is a 2006 model with 98K on it. Grey with tan interior. Seats 7. I will be asking 15,500 for it. I hope you find the one that is right for you. I can send a few pictures if you would like.
