I thought they used 24volts to start so at the very least you had 24 volts there but not the rest of the system.

I thought about just keeping it for the house in case the lights go off but someone's gotta have a use for this.

Most of the older one are full time 24v. My '93 Patrol is that way but in '96 they changed it as you described. I'm surprised no Mog owners have shown interest!
