Funny story:

I used to manage an automotive repair shop here in Flagstaff. Across the street is a greasy spoon type of diner. My buddy and I would eat lunch there every day. We sat in the same booth, ate the same stuff, (He had a club sandwich with fries, I always had the daily special whatever it was) and had the same waitress. She was the manager of the diner. One day, I was a little jacked up from playing open hockey the night prior. Dolores asked what happened and I told her. She says "Oh, my son in law plays hockey, too." I figured I may know him, I asked "What is his name?" She says "Luc Robitaille, He lives in California." I was floored. I got to meet him a few times and he even played pickup with us a couple times. Really cool dude. He gave me a "500th goal" poster that he signed. My wife was all gushy around "Luscious Luc"..... Pathetic.

Growing up in the 'Burgh, in the 70's you would meet sports guys all the time. My dad was a season ticket holder for the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. I even have some old Maulers autographs from back in the day. It was a great time to be a kid. Back then, you could bump into Franco Harris at the mall.......

Btw, if that was a Pens sweater, I'd have grabbed it. Still tempted, though.

Bump.

My brother is a Golf Pro in Palm Springs and has met and is friends with many of the Kings. It is funny when you hear stories and see pictures of Tony playing golf with Luc, Marty, and others. My Dad is a huge fan too. I will pass this on, good luck.

That's awesome! Coffey is the only player I've ever met. I would love to have met some of the other Kings from back in the day.

Thanks!

Alright, I have my awning ordered, so now the next item I want to save up for is a new (and proper) front bumper and winch. I figure to make this a proper ExPo thing, I'd add in my Overland Journal issues I have as well (I'll have to see which ones they are and I'll put them on here tonight when I get home!)

I have met sooo many Red Wings over the years plus several that weren't. They used to have alumni games at Joe Louis Arena and then an afterparty with the players. They only did it a few years but they were a ball! The first year I went I had a few in me and had no problems going up to Ted Lindsey. The next year I made my wife go get his auto. Wife: "Why won't you do it?" Me: "Thats Ted Lindsey! He might beat me up!" (I am '6"5 #250 and Ted is about 80 yo). The wife just laughed. I met Gordie Howe a few years back. What a nice guy and a character! My buddies and I are standing in front of him (they aren't much smaller than me) Gordie "What is this the pee wee league?" We all busted out laughing.

For a little bit there I thought this was actuallyl going to sell here. Oh well...

Like I said, If it was a Pens sweater, It would have been done already. I can PM you an offer, if you are still entertaining them.
