Funny story:
I used to manage an automotive repair shop here in Flagstaff. Across the street is a greasy spoon type of diner. My buddy and I would eat lunch there every day. We sat in the same booth, ate the same stuff, (He had a club sandwich with fries, I always had the daily special whatever it was) and had the same waitress. She was the manager of the diner. One day, I was a little jacked up from playing open hockey the night prior. Dolores asked what happened and I told her. She says "Oh, my son in law plays hockey, too." I figured I may know him, I asked "What is his name?" She says "Luc Robitaille, He lives in California." I was floored. I got to meet him a few times and he even played pickup with us a couple times. Really cool dude. He gave me a "500th goal" poster that he signed. My wife was all gushy around "Luscious Luc"..... Pathetic.
Growing up in the 'Burgh, in the 70's you would meet sports guys all the time. My dad was a season ticket holder for the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. I even have some old Maulers autographs from back in the day. It was a great time to be a kid. Back then, you could bump into Franco Harris at the mall.......
Btw, if that was a Pens sweater, I'd have grabbed it. Still tempted, though.
Bump.
