The green paint makes it faster.Nice hatchet, but if you can do without the green paint and the leather sheath, it's nothing more than a Vaughan carpenter's hatchet with some paint on it; about $25.

Contrary to popular belief, Illinois is technically part of the United States (except East St Louis) and citizens there can even run for POTUS if they are so inclined.o.o I knew this... I have been hunting for a quality hatchet made in USA for a while. I discounted it, because it was made in Illinois...

Higher-end. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Estwing-16-Nylon-Vinyl-Grip-Campers-Axe-E44A/19304354I've never regretted buying a high end tool.
Talk to any carpenter who knows his tools and ask him what kind of hammer he would buy if he wanted "high end." A vast majority will tell you Vaughan or Estwing. Both top quality, both made in the USA.I've never regretted buying a high end tool.
Faster on the backswing, sharper on the stroke. Vast improvement.By the way, the green paint doesn't make it faster.
The green paint makes it SHARPER...
