I'm assuming that Fuelly data is just a hodge podge mix of various city and highway mileage. I'd like to see strictly highway runs and see what they get. Maybe a dealership has a demo/rental you guys can take out.

Also, I just looked up some prices. A local dealer has two. Both SLT and both over $40k. Only discounted $2k off of MSRP. Holy crap. Even the regular 3.6L V6 is up in the high $30k's.

My overall mpg average at 4,225 miles is 30. The best 50 mile average is 38.1 mpg. These are mostly highway miles. 2016 GMC Canyon 2.8 duramax diesel.

I am not seeing a filter for strictly highway mileage. Like the Ram betting I can get better mileage than most.

Have been looking on cars.com, I am seeing them in the $34K range.

That is awesome! They look like great "little" truck.

However great mileage isn't an end-all for me. They miss a couple points for me, , not available in the WT model, no extra cab, no manual trans...don't care for the rear shock mounts or spare tire location, it hangs really low compared to a Tacoma. Which has everything I want and need out of truck, except great mileage. You can grab a SR ACLB Tacoma for $25K...that savings over a Colorado buys an awful lot of fuel. It is just a little slow...not much in a hurry any more...little re-gear and it should pull my 3 bike trailer just fine.

That makes sense. I grew up near Raleigh, so I know the terrain fairly well.

I had the z71 with the "whatever it is package with the rear rack, steps and lights" out for a test drive today. it was the v6, and really, not getting great milage...in the 600 kms it had on it, it was 16.6l/100kms. Whatever that works out to be in MPG. We (my wife and I), both Love the truck however....with the diesel it will be a winner for us!

It is a Chevy trim level. maybe the same as the GMC SLT, and they drop the "S"??? I dunno...

I think Chevy's top level trim is LTZ. LT is probably same as SLE.

LT is the highest non-off-road trim level for the Chevy.
The SLT is the highest non-off-road tirm level for the GMC. Between the two, the GMC SLT has a nicer interior than the Chevy LT.

When I test drove a Canyon V6, I drove it like I stole it. I was not aiming for a high MPG run. Whoever got in the truck after me, would not have seen very favourable MPG stats.

PS The package with the extra LED lights is called "Trail Boss."

the z71 will be fine, I am putting the bajakits King resi setup on it so zr2 will pale in comparison.

The King setup should be great.

That said, it looks like GM is trying to put a decent effort into the ZR2 suspension.
