Trying out my spare 33's... Will require a bit more trimming before any I attempt any trails. Still considering 31 or 32 tall tread, as well...

I love the look! I want to do that to mine really bad, but worried about the tent reaching the floor. How does it work out tent wise?

I didn't get a chance to pop the tent this weekend, unfortunately. However I'll be sure to get some pics this weekend, if not before. I can live with the sides getting pulled up a bit, especially as I still haven't even used any of the poles. Mental note tho, try to avoid more downhill slopes in the future on the 'tent' side :smiley_drive:

Haven't made much progress on the water heater yet, but in the meantime I was able to hook-up my disconnectable rear power via Anderson power connectors. Inside my truck these are wired directly to my secondary battery.

How much was the water heater?

Found it for just over $100. It's the Eccotemp L5 portable on demand unit. It's mounted where the kitchen setup used to be (passenger side) while the kitchen setup was moved to the driver side. I'm not a wine person, so the space of the wine cellar was more valuable for this mod. Plus, I'll have some extra storage space for 'accessories' and what not.

Now I'm working to change my water pump to the passenger side and will be plumbing everything together over the next few days. More pics to come

The heater has its own battery system so you dont have to use the same power that is running your lights and your fridge right?

I just got back from San Rafael Swell this morning. Pictures coming soon, but washing hands and dishes made my fingers numb. It was about 29 degrees at night and 50 during the day. We went with Everymilesamemory so we should have some excellent pictures.

I ended up purchasing my heater from this place, currently marked for $111:

It was shipped and arrived rather quickly! By the way, it does come with a little (kinda cheap feeling) shower head w/ integrated on/off button, hose for the shower head and a propane tank hose.

Regarding the power, yes it requires 2D batteries for the 'on-demand' ignition. As it only tries to ignite when water is flowing, those batteries should last quite a while.

I like that water heater. Have to add that to the trailer mods wish list.

I also did away with the fish tank pump and got a ShurFlo RV pump for my water. I just feed the pickup line down the filler neck (or other water supply) and away I go...

I rigged the pump up with a Hella connector, an in-line fuse and a toggle switch mounted on the pump. I mounted it to a plywood base with a threaded T-nut (think Time-sert for wood) and have one of the jerry can holder bolts securing it. That way, if I need to, I can make the pump portable in about a minute.

I also have a screen on the intake line to keep the fish out...

I dig the work youve done so far, I plane as well to lift mine soon, curious about the tent as well. After looking though mine I believe if you trim it like this you should have plenty of clearence for 33s The real trick would be adding on extended fenders or running really narrow tires

I'm interested in how you mounted the receiver tube. Bolted/Welded on? I'm looking at doing the same kind of thing but keeping it on top as original.

I've looked at a couple of bolt-on receivers intended for use on a truck bumper that would bolt up pretty easy. Might also be possible to make an adjustable "reach" using the appropriate 2" tubing.

A Max Coupler went on over the weekend; what an improvement.

I bought a 12" receiver tube at Northern Tool, drilled two holes, and bolted it with some heavy bolts and huge rectangular washers.
It can live on the top or bottom; I don't have a lift so the bottom works better for me.

OK, So I have been quiet lately about the trailer, ... but busy, busy, busy.

I removed the hubs and had them re-drilled and new studs pressed and have mounted the exact tires and wheels I have on my new truck. (spare included), so now I run all the same:

Also, I added a third LP tank to the rear as I wanted the one I use to be close to the stove side of the trailer as well as giving me extra capacity for longer stays:

And Finally, I already had a flat shovel mounted, but when I sold the Defender, I had a pointed spade on the wing that the new buyer did not want. I removed it and have now mounted it on the opposite side from the High Lift mounted:
