The 87 has a d60/arb, 14bff/detroit 5.13's, 38" Toyos and alot more (ditched the snorkel lol). Its my tow rig primarily but very useful all around.
Here's a poor video heading up to the Moon Rocks @ Naches before the x-over steering.

Looking forward to the twinstick 205 for sure.
Got a few K5 Blazers as well.
This is a great site you all have here.

Turbo?

Hey NOW! Like the crew cab and have a 6.2 myself, wondering how the ATS turbo fits under the hood... any pics on that upgrade?

That pickup you have there is the perfect start to a great all around vehicle, has 4.56 gears too if I remember right and a turbo 400 trans.

While bolt on kits are great going w/dual turbos is a easy fabrication too.
The 6.2 diesel in it would wake up w/2 turbos placed at end of exhaust manifolds. Mitsu TD04-19 or 20 would be a good start, limit boost on each to about 7 lbs to start. With dual exhaust and opened up intake path you'll be amazed how much more useful the vehicle becomes, driven easy I'd expect an increase in mpg's too.

The trans can be built w/ceramic and kevlar clutches these days and lots of reprogram shift kits too will allow it to hold up to what is thrown at it.

EGT/boost/trans temp gauges are a must!

Not an expo rig by any means but it gets around ok. I need to add a winch and some off road tires and some type of slide in camper.

full size parts in a small package.

My S10 originally 2wd with 4 banger gas motor. Now Cummins 4BTA power to nv5600 to np205 to turn D44 and D60 both locked with 37's. I chose the James Bond/ Indiana Jones/ Macgyver action package at some point in the build. It's built for the rock, in the hard place.

First two months after rebirth 6,000 miles. 3' snow drifts, -6f starts, Hammers, Joshua Tree, Mohave, Lake Mead, Death Valley nothing like testing your rig 2,500 miles from home.

My mistress KTM 950 Adv with more mods then I can keep track of. Most women wish they had this much bling, most men wish their ladies got this dirty.

Thanks it was a ton of work, Toxic Diesel in St. George, Ut tuned it it barely smokes out a 3" straight pipe. My 1 ton on the other hand can leave big clouds. I was told by a guy in Las Vegas that they would just scan my vin number and not even open the hood due to the year it rolled out of the factory.

easy to bust power out of the 4bt, all the 6bt parts bolt right up. My 2000 will roll the coal if i deem it needed, like the tailgater on the freeway, they quickly back off. I love the combo, would like to do the same with a jk, with the exception of a dana 60 front and rear.

Great work. That S10 looks great! Maybe once my TB is old and grey I'll do something similar... maybe. Can't wait to see a build thread for that thing.

2011 Power Wagon and custom-built Little Guy trailer.
We just did a 4000 mile vacation trip with it; found some glitches, all with the trailer though. It's back at the factory right now getting them worked out.
The truck is remarkable for road-tripping and overland duty.

SEOverlandRallyWorkshop2011079.jpg

I was wondering if when on that 4000 mile trip you checked your average mpg while lloaded up and pulling that little trailer?
Just out of curiosity, Thanks

Thanks

Thanks for the complements. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was going to look like it does now when I started in with the saws-all and torch. There's ton's of details that the pics don't show. What you see is only 90% complete their is still a big to do list.

What I started with.

I must say I am just a guy in my garage with normal tools and a big imagination. I can't post the pics Chris Collard took of it at Johnson Valley let me just say they will blow your mind, when you see them. My only hope is he Photoshops out all the leaks it had during the shakedown. Their is no build thread anywhere I was a little busy working on it 10-14 hours a day, but I have slowly been think about it. I think the chances of someone duplicating it are slim as a lot of it only fits by 1/8" or less. I like to say it's literally one ton ******** in a quarter ton package. I have had pro builders look it over and agree their was no other way to get it to work without messing it all up ( no room for D60 in front). People who saw it during construction could not believe it, I did not allow people to even take pics of it while I built it as I was unsure it was all going to fit together. Even my closest friends got cut off the last few weeks as the days got longer and problems arose. My neighbors checked on me every couple days if they did not see the crack of light from the garage door turn off or my big truck leave on a Taco bell/ parts run. I am aware of 1 other 4bt 2nd gen body s10 and we went totally different routes on execution of the project.
