My New (AEV) American Expedition Vehicles Jeep!!

The vehicle is just what gets you there and back, it is the people that make the experience valuable.

You are absolutely right!

Her's might see more- and the black cannot get scratched.
D

Have they changed the top design? Our black top was white on the inside and throughout. When it got scratched, white shown through. This was part of our decision for choosing white. Teach me Obi Wan.

I'm not Obi, but if I may cut in.....the top has not been changed one bit except the sharper, squarer (is that a word?), top corners of the 2011's and up. It definately scratches, I think he was referring more to the scratching of the paint if he were to paint the green Jeep's hard top a matching green.

I just drug (literally) my 2011 Jeep's hard top through 800 miles of Oregon's 6 ft. tall, Madrona bush choked backroads doing Route 3 of the OBDR a couple of months ago and still have the pinstripes to show for it. My JK was 3 weeks old when I started the trip so to say I had a quick break in time was an understatement, but I bought it to use it, not abuse it.

I'm not Obi either - and yes, I was referring to the fact that paint would be easier to scratch taking the top on and off, ... than just leaving it black.

Dendy,

I converted from Land Rovers to Jeeps back in 2000 and never looked back. Glad you saw the light too. (Even though it appears that your wife saw the light first and - as any smart husband would do - you had the final word saying "yes honey"!! :peepwall:)

Both of your Jeeps look awesome, really like the black/saddle interior with the cloth seats of the green JKU, and really like the exterior of the AEV. But I do have one question: Why didn't you go with the 2012 model with the new engine/tranny?

"way" below invoice ... may be a stretch, ... but they what Bill said is right. At the zero percent interest, ... my two payments combined is about what the payment on a 2011 LR4 would have been. Zero percent is a good thing- especially when you depreciate these through a business.
:)
Thanks

Very nice Jeep. I love the color. Where did you get the decals for the first aid and fire extinguisher? Thanks

Hey, Akecj7- Those are my designs. I have them made up. You think folks would be interested in them if I made them available for purchase? I have had several PM regarding them. Hmmm

Low prices and 0% financing on 2011s.
They're giving them away, way-below invoice....
I know, and I was very tempted to buy a tan '11 Sport myself, especially as the '11 already has the nice new interior. However, after owing my '12 for 4 weeks now, I have to say that I don't regret my decision; the Pentastar and new tranny are IMHO well worth the approx 4% of interest. In real world driving, the difference between my old '08 and the '12 (identical set-up, 4 door Rubi with auto and 4:10 gears) is much bigger than it appears just during the test drive.

This thread is not about 2011 vs 2012.......we could spend hours talking that and I think it has been beat to death.

Dendy is a valued member of this forum and has made the jump to Jeep from a long history of LR.

Lets welcome him and his awesome AEV ride.

I wish I could paint my CRD that Tan color.....

Hey Dendy..
I had a lil debate with the Jeep sales guy here and we were talking about the AEV being sold/marketed(?) through Jeep stealerships...Did you say yours is covered under the factory warranty? Didn't someone say the Hemi conversion is covered also? Just looking for a little clarification please. :) Love your new rides! Wish I had the duckies to go that route...sigh. ;)

Yes- If the jeep is built by AEV or modified before being sold as a new truck, the AEV items and conversions are covered if done by an authorized AEV sanctioned/Jeep Dealer.
