Converting Whelen 900s/Similar Scene lighting to LED?

Just to close the loop on my portion of the thread, I didn't drill any additional holes and left the light on for about about 90 mins to see what would happen. At an ambient temp of 68, the lens was 75, and the hottest part of the housing inside the enclosure was 93.. This was measured with a...

Converting Whelen 900s/Similar Scene lighting to LED?

When I purchased the lights, they were $12.99. Two days later, they were $14.99. When I checked today, they were $17.99. Too bad, they were a decent deal at $13 but at $18 I'd rather look for a company that's not going to raise the price every few days.

Converting Whelen 900s/Similar Scene lighting to LED?

Great news, the lights fit in the pod without sticking out past the lens. Other than drilling a hole for the mounting screw, I didn't do anything else (actually drilled two because the first hole was a tad high). My housing already had a cracked hole (visible in the straight on and rear pics) so...

Converting Whelen 900s/Similar Scene lighting to LED?

Realizing that this is a few months old, I thought it might still be helpful to post up this light I found on Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093SRS8VV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 After seeing a Whelen replacement bulb was runinng about $75 and a G4 bulb would fit but...

    Engine swap and sloped driveway?

The original post was a few weeks ago and maybe you've already started. If so, maybe this'll help someone else but if not, it'll help you out too. If you have another vehicle with a 2 inch hitch, just weld a hitch tube (the male part that fits into the receiver) to the bottom of your engine...

    HELP blowing white smoke!!

Leaving the oil a separate issue, I think you might have a boost leak and/or injector issue. A infrared temp gun will be your friend, I'm curious to hear what each cylinder is doing. As for the oil from the dipstick, if you were having that much blow by then you shouldn't have so much white...

    HELP blowing white smoke!!

I should have suggested it earlier but stop at Walmart and pick up a big bottle of grey Diesel Kleen, I think it's $16.88 and worth every penny. Pour half of that in the tank and see if the smoke is reduced, that stuff is so good that it'll hide injector/boost leak problems but nothing will hide...

Arcteryx ILBE 3 Day Assault Packs

I'm in Buffalo but travel up and down the east coast, as far south as North Carolina and as far west as Chicago quite a bit. I'm happy to meet up with anyone and save them on shipping costs, unfortunately I don't get that chance very often. But yeah, if you're anywhere along my route and would...

    HELP blowing white smoke!!

From your description, and if it's actually BLOWING and BELCHING, I think it's one of 3 things. 1) Bad turbo seals that are allowing oil to leak past. 2) Bad injector(s) 3) Leaking boost To determine the turbo seals, other than shining with a flashlight and looking for an external leak, OR...

Arcteryx ILBE 3 Day Assault Packs

The bags are identical to the ones in the Ebay ad, not much difference at all besides being VERY slightly faded from the sun.

transporting diesel in 55 gal drums??

Here's a flyer I found from a .gov address. It's not straight out the FMCSR/DOT but you'd hope that this agency researched their data with FMCSR (Fed Mot. Carr. Safety Regs) before putting it out there. Anyway, it specifically covers transporting diesel fuel in drums and logically, it'd seem...
