    Offroading paraplegic needed a lift.

So I built it! Hey everyone, BirdMan here. Just wanted to share this to the "community". I am big time into off roading/rock crawling/4 wheeling, and after too many times of "NEEDING" someone else to load/unload my truck on the trailer, I decided to build something. So, after teaching myself...

    Spotted: Big Willy 6x6!!

I was thinking they fold out and act as outriggers. Those tires have to float. Right?

    The DrewMobile Wheelchair Van

I use a manual chair, T-8 para, so I really dont need the drop floor. Plus I have seen a few dropped floor vans after a few years of use, lots of potential for rust where the cutting and welding happened. I am now eyeballing the new "slide away" from ricon. Another inovative single post...

    The DrewMobile Wheelchair Van

Looks good with the 285's. How does it ride with the body lift? And do you know what the floor to ground distance is ? I'm looking at a lift like that as well. I love the fact that there isn't a second post right behind the pass seat, limiting the ability to recline the seat.

Good points Lance, I am on a diesel forum and have been chatting it up some with the van guys. I don't plan to go full on race, only pave the way to have the ability to access the potential of the power stroke. At the push of a button she is ready to tow a hill, or click and your in economy...

    Q: for Lance

Definitely going Sure Grip controls, as I have them on my FJ as well. I am leaning toward a bi fold or tri fold, for 2 reasons, 1 to not have that second...

    Q: for Lance

Hey there gimp :sombrero: It's BirdMan from the FJ forum. I finally found my van, 2000 E350 ext, SuperDuty with the 7.3 PSD. Already had Ambul. package, with raised doors on the rear. Anyway, I remember us chatting about lifts, and you said you were going to swap out the one in your van, the...

    inverters, ac, heating, cooking

Solar is nice, but when you camp, most people look for shade or create it. If your rig is outfitted with solar panels it would need to be in the direct sun, right? Also, for optimum charging you need direct aspect to the sun.Think of your panel, flat on the roof, the sun comes up, goes over and...

    advice on a van purchase

Hi Lance... The van I spoke of is in Georgia just NW of Atlanta, and is at a conversion company. After speaking with the Owner, it has a dropped floor from the rear Queen bed up to engine cover and including the pass seating area. So no pass seat. I assume the chair sits there and is strapped...

    advice on a van purchase

Really looking for Ford, 250/350 prefer 350, diesel & 4x4. Not really to keen on the 6.0 if ya know what I mean. care less about windows, would rather have the 60/40 over sliding side, (issues with oversized tires). Will use it as a tow vehicle, for my FJ Cruiser/ or 4 runner/ or expo trailer...
