I had this redone by a friend. The tub was cutout due to rust and then everything was rebuilt with new steel. New shocks were installed. Cost a bit but oh well. Time to get rid of it.
M-416 Expedition Trailer (off roading, Jeep)
$1500 OBO
My custom M-416 bounces around in the back without weight (over some bumps on dirt roads). Nothing that a 4600-5000 lb FJ Cruiser can't handle (modded or else the curb weight would be 4290).
When it isn't loaded correctly (box was shaved off in the front so everything heavy needs to be loaded...
The only ones I've seen with torsion suspension are the HVAC/Generator trailers. I've been looking at a lot of trailers on post. Our company has a water buffalo and M105.
We are getting an LMTV trailer that has a tounge weight of 800 lbs and weighs about 7.5k empty.
Let me guess. It cost 1000 dollars Buy it Now?
I was looking at this. Good buy! I'm tearing my 350 dollar purchase apart. Redoing the tub (it won't have the curve at the top becuase there will be toolkits attached to the side).
I think ih8mud is having problems again. Does anyone know if 101 springs match up to 416?
EDIT: I think they do because saturnsurplus.com showed the same picture for the M416 and 101 springs.
Has everyone that replaced the axle for example with a 3500 lb one from ABC Trailers used the stock leaf spring hardware?
I see it more difficult to match up heights and what not. The leaf springs from ABC don't seem very long and don't provide much height.
