    2000 Montero Project

2000 Montero Project ***SOLD*** Full truck, all its original parts, plus a lot more to get it back on the road and better equipped than original. For those in the Montero community, I have been less active on the web but around for a long time now. I go by MontyMcV on the forums. If you...

    is 4x4wire gone?

I haven't been as active on the web for a while. Found this thread after trying to go to 4x4Wire. Total bummer! P.S. Hello to all the old timers I see, including Justice!

1998 mitsubishi montero fuel pump hanger assembly

Remove plugs... The electrical connectors? They are no different than any other. Just release their catches and wiggle off.

How important is rear fan control - Gen 3

I didn't notice the plastic tee(s?). I assume these are at the back of the engine, where the hoses seem to visibly tee and head to the back? Looks like a PITA to fix after a fail. I need to do a bunch of 60k service to hers. And while the miles are low, the years aren't. Plus, prior to our...

Anyone intersted in Gen I 2.6 MT transfer case with the custom OZ 2.85 gears?

Hello All: . I haven't posted too much in a couple years now, and thus not much on EP. Those here who began life at 4x4Wire know me. I am at a point in life where I don't have the time/energy to work on more that one truck. The kids are nearly grown, and I am going to focus on the 2000. That...

How important is rear fan control - Gen 3

We have it on our 2003. The hard lines that pipe the hot water are made of $hit metal. I say that as ours just let go. Everything else underneath looks great. They just aren't the same caliber as Mitsu's other hard lines for some reason. That is not the real point though. To the...

    dark tan leather bouncy/suspension seats

If you want to separate and sell the bases only, which would obviously make for cheaper shipping, I'd be interested in all the leather upholstery.

Gen 2.5 Mitsubishi Montero 2000 - Over-landing Family Truck - long term enhancement

How many miles? I cannot find in the thread posts. If around the 120k service interval, there are other things I would do with the timing belt and spark plugs. If you are below that, be sure to plan on doing more work with the next t-belt/tune-up.

What years montero is the best

If you live with snow (you do) and the wife will drive, don't get a Gen III 3.5 XLS (01-02). It will not have Active-Trac. People in other parts of the world who wheel Gen IIIs more have had generally positive things to say about the traction control system.

Doing Headgaskets and timing belt - what else?

If you are replacing a head gasket, then VC gaskets and tube top grommets. When was last tune up? May as well change the plugs. How many miles? If you have to take off all that is needed for the head, then do all the other hoses on top of the engine, and also the o-rings and grommets on the...

gen 2/2.5 rear cargo plug question

One option would be to figure out which fuse and check its amps. Can an ARB fridge run off a regular cig lighter socket? If so, and if the rear socket is the amp fuse as the cig, I'd give it a go.

98 Monty. New to the scene. My build story.

Those rear door hinges aren't bent pins. They are broken pins that are still barely keeping it together. One of these days you will open it and they will sheer all the way at the separation point between the hinge halves. You want to get them replaced before that happens. . Look for hinges...

    dark tan leather bouncy/suspension seats

Sorry, no pics. Only seen them twice, one being the lucky score I described above. They have two knobs on the outside base to move the front and back up and down.
