    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Edgestar 43 qt fridge report over 2 weekends A little fridge report ... No drama over two weekend trips w/ the new Edgestar 43 qt. Based on a previous post, which measured inside temp at 6F less than readout temp, I set the temp at 42F. Don't want any broken beer bottles :-) Display varied...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

Thanks for the info, Err. Yeah, around here (CO & UT) departure, ground clearance and approach angle are crucial. That's why I wouldn't consider the vans longer than 144' WB. By the time I'm in the market, there might be a rental I can test. Thanks.

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

Err, Have you taken this thing on rugged terrain yet? I'm thinking a van may be in my future after my truck dies. I need a "trailhead" vehicle though. My truck gets me everywhere. I wouldn't expect the van to do as well but maybe 50%? I'm talking the usual Western US off pavement terrain...

    Diesel News: POST HERE

Dan, Europe's diesel standards are different than the US. I'm sure they think the US is playing catch up to their standard. ;-)

    Callen Campers still in business?

Tradesman Custom Truck Tops, http://tradesmantrucktops.com/ , is where I'd look if I was going to buy a Callen now. Check their gallery. Some look very similar to my Callen.

Lets see some "set up" Regular Camper shells

Are you sure you need a 3rd battery? My stock 2 battery system has worked fine for years - even for winter camping. I don't run a refrigerator off the battery but I have run my diesel heater for a couple nights in a row in 0 deg F conditions.

chevyz71, really like your setup. Nice work! In the last pic, I see your bottle opener. Good thought. I have mine screwed to my bumper. Either way, essential! ;-)

Lets see some "set up" Regular Camper shells

You guys are making it tougher than it needs to be. Glue closed cell padding to your tail gate. The knees will have no more problems .. or if you want bed and tailgate solution get a bedrug - http://www.bedrug.com/ A bedrug will add insulation to the inside of the back also. It gets dirty but...

    Diesel News: POST HERE

imperial mpg is a British measurment unit not a European measurement unit. I wouldn't assume they are using imperial mpgs in the article but they might be.

Video of Deploying and Packing a Hannibal Awning

Very interesting to see how this sets up. It's pretty fast. I wondered about the slope as well. I have a Carefree Freedom III with the body mount sockets. It's easy to slope but it doesn't have the beefy horizontal supports. Pros & Cons to everything, I guess. Thanks for the video!

    Callen Campers still in business?

Thanks Dantheman! I got my Callen a few years ago. My family loves it. It fits our life style perfectly. Hopefully with your help, many others can enjoy their Callen. Sorry if I sound like a commercial. Callen's fit & finish isn't perfect. Is that better?

The Open Air Camper build - Callen on Dodge Short Bed

Knowing what I know now, I'd talk to my local big rig service (trucks, motorhomes, contruction rigs). In my case, this was Stewart & Stevenson (http://www.ssss.com/) in Denver. They install these heaters daily for truckers. My S&S mechanic said they get webasto air top 2000 diesel heaters for...

The Open Air Camper build - Callen on Dodge Short Bed

Thanks! Yeah, I have updates. Just need to get off my butt & post. Coming up: webasto diesel heater awning water system - gravity feed table legs added to center board - now doubles as bed board or inside/outside table cushion covers - sort of a flower power motif

    My nightmare with Callen Campers

I think I might have seen this website before I ordered my Callen but I did not know they did custom work and certainly did not see this picture on their website: Certainly worth talking with.
