What would you buy for $40k?

10-12 MPG no matter what you do, tow a tug boat or coast down a hill with a tail wind. The system creates the criteria, from what I have found there's nothing that improves fuel economy better than being parked. That being said, I wouldn't trade it for a diesel, unless it was in a Coach getting...

    Vandetta

Thanks used a combination of dynamat - 3/4" plywood t&g - a layer of jute for insulation- and finally to top it off I used G-Floor . 5 years and so far the floor has held up nicely.

    Which van for us?

if budget permits get yourself a newer model E350 and build it slowly as need dictates. You can't really go wrong with it and the right gearing and a rear locker can get most places safely.

VANdiana Jones sequel: The Legacy Continues

The atlas 2 or 4 can be ordered with different gearing keeping in mind the 271 is 2.7 to 1 ratio most atlas2 will have 3.8 - 4.3 to1 ratio. It allows the vehicle to crawl slower with more wheel control. Another feature I like is the ability to run front only or rear only in Low range. I kick it...

VANdiana Jones sequel: The Legacy Continues

Thanks for the sweaty palms pictorial. I enjoyed them. Steep declines are no fun and I know the feeling of standing on the brakes so hard the ABS took over and was pulsing all the way down. I know at Atlas will solve most of it and lower rear end would help also, just don't want to lose any GPMs...

    UJOR Build Thread

I forgot to hijack this thread all the way.. I can't see the screen on my Kenwood DD with my polarized lens on. Literally have to take sunglasses off to see menu, pretty nice while driving into the sun. Mostly stays turned off. Not to mention the sirius satelite radio feature was an additional...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

The eraser wheel needs to be used in the appropriate pneumatic tool with correct speed of 4000 RPM . If spun to fast or slow bad happens, you can burn the paint if you stay too long in one spot, however it should work. If rubber wheel is used in normal die grinder @ 18000 RPM it will fly apart...

    UJOR Build Thread

Every van I see on the side of the road is beat, that is a score. So neat to see the vision become real. Nice rig. I have a Kenwood double din and I would trade it out for an Alpine in heartbeat. The double din fits but is a pain to remove the dash bezel when thoroughly cleaning. The kenwood...

If ever a thread needed pictures...door galley idea

I recently considered plunking down the money on the SMB PHT, but I didn't, just can't afford to pay someone to hack my van into shreds then fill it with tech screws. Thank you for the link. I like your build, the GTRV top is the nicest pop top I've seen to date. I knew they existed however...

spent $70 at sport chalet with a $50 gift card. couldn't go wrong and still wonder why it took so long to buy it. I only use for liquid, no solid waste. Figure if it gets funky I chuck it and buy another and I won't be too upset. so far its clean cuz I keep it like that...
