That's awesome! My old Blazer has a 44 up front. Never would've thought of putting one in my Xterra. Looks great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Plano 1919 Waterproof Storage Trunk

Go back and read the thread. This is not a Plano vs. Pelican thread. No one is under the delusion that these Plano cases are anywhere near the protection level of Pelican. This conversation is about storage and waterproofing, not ultimate protection. That review isn't even applicable to most of...

    Plano 1919 Waterproof Storage Trunk

You two come in here just to whine within a healthy discussion about which you have nothing worthwhile to add? I have no need for a Pelican case. Absolute waste of money for me to have that level of protection. Trash bags holding all your gear just make it more annoying to access and then...

I've had good luck with adding a seal to the Plano Sportsman cases. I haven't had them in heavy rain yet but am confident they'll do fine on the roof rack. I followed 3-4 trucks over 150+ miles on dirt/gravel roads with no rain in ages. Epic levels of fine dust. None got in the cases. Sent...

    Plano 1919 Waterproof Storage Trunk

I bought two of the smaller Plano cases without the o-ring, bought some window seal at Home Depot, and am quite pleased with the outcome. Last weekend I had both boxes on the roof rack for 2 days on back roads. No rain, but there was epic levels of dust following 3-4 other trucks for over 150...

    Plano 1919 Waterproof Storage Trunk

Here's another alternative. It's smaller, but fully sealed, and not nearly as expensive as Pelican. I'd say this is a pretty impressive deal if the quality is half-decent. 22" Black Tactical Weatherproof Equipment Case - Deep - $67.99 http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/22-24160

Nice! That's the first 1st gen I've seen other than mine with the Desert Runner wheels. You've done a perfect job with the mods. Not too much and still plenty aggressive. I hadn't thought I'd keep my X this long so didn't figure I'd mod it more, but I may end up doing a few more things like...

    LR4/Discovery 4: School me?

Good to hear. I may be in the market for one in the near future and I've noticed that the HD package is very hard to find. This is great, as the HD may have just dropped off my requirement list.

    LR4/Discovery 4: School me?

Does the air locker cause any issues with the LR terrain response system? I'd imagine the torque transfer tech would freak out a bit. I'm hoping not, as honestly, I'd rather have control over the locker than the one that comes with the HD package.

LOVE this. I've had the urge for a while now to move out of my Xterra and into an LR3. It just may happen within the next year or so, and this is exactly the type of setup I want. What bumpers and rack are those? (or do you have a build thread?)

Very nice! I have an 03 as well. It's a great truck, and I've been enjoying it immensely.

I've only had one trip in my X since buying it earlier this year, but I put it to good use for over two weeks in Colorado. I've lurked on here for some time and am looking forward to contributing from time to time. Although I may be getting the bug for more power and space (read LR3), I've...
