I have the same 01 ltd also what exactly happened to your old starter? If you turn the key and nothing happens, then it is your ignition switch that is bad (22$). They get "lazy" with age.I still have OE starter and I'm at 223k miles.
Lots of tire/wheels choices for Gen 3s I would not put anything less than 255s in there and if you are getting a lift OME shocks/springs is the only way to go for me. Get some good brake pads/rotors also your stopping distance will be longer.
Another thing that I would not consider are the 01 and 02 XLS models. They are 4 speed and do not have center locking diffs and no activ-trak-4wd system (only limited models have this). 03s and up have all the same traction systems which are desirable.
Just want to help you out, can you ask the the shop that did your timing belt what part they use- anything they replace in that job should be OE or else it will not last 60k! also do an OBD scan see if something comes up.
Well done Sabre and looks good too. I did mine years ago page 54 in pajero pics. Just use odyssey battery or similar type to handle all that power drain when winching.
Had this problem recently and replaced items you listed. Mine is an 01 ltd but there is a small brass regulator inside the vacuum tube that gets clogged with dirt and this will give you the P0400. This tube is connected to egr solenoid. pull out tube and test it with canned air. I bought new...

Hi, You don't have to remove spline or disc brakes. The trick is to relieve tension to those joints when you remove them. I used a small jack under the disc to release tension. This also avoids stripping your bolt threads. I used...
Depends on where you are. Cali is 60k. Only use Mitsu parts even the water pump (every 120k for water pump). Replace your fr/rr cam seal too. They are interference engine so it will be costly if they break. All my tbelts are done at dealer but it is worth it. Now at 207000 miles and no...
That's the same link I followed when I built mine (thanks monstero and same pic on page 54 in pics section) the only difference is I used a winch plate (same brand as my winch Smittybilt) but same weld spot location and I did not cut the grills only cut around where it touches the winch and yes...
Have not posted here awhile I have the same model/year monty also. Replaced my OE radiator with SILLA brand. Never had a problem since on any steep climbs. Did the change out myself with prestone/distilled water 50/50 mix. You do need to unhook the transmission lines (2) you will lose some...
Plug in OBD2 reader and see what codes you have. I always start here and and google those codes to see if there are any fixes. Have you checked all your fuses?
