Thanks for the advice. If necessary, I'll go ahead and use the cargo basket. I'm hoping to figure a way around without it, though. I'll just make sure to carry non-essentials if I have to ditch it. This was the first thread that inspired me as to the best locations for the North Rim/Parashant...

Hello, I'm glad to see you're still responding to this old thread. I need some trail advice! I'm planning a trip to Twin Point and Kelly Point this May. However, carrying 3-4 people + gear is putting a strain on the cargo space in my 2005 4Runner. My question: could I use a hitch mount...

    Kitchen Kit/Chuck Box

This is perhaps the most salient point I've read on this subject thus far. While I admire the functionality of the solutions here, most of them are just too large for my purposes.

    Group Buy: ASFIR 4x4 Products

They've arrived! Ordered mine on Tuesday, arrived Thursday! Maybe there are benefits to living in Vegas, one state over from Sierra Expeditions in Phoenix!

Awesome I'm on the list! :wings: Okay, how do I pay, and how do I get them to my house in Vegas? ha ha! Buying stuff w/o knowing to get it home. How silly!:sombrero: -Dan

I've heard elsewhere that there is still a group buy available. Is this true? If so, I'd like to grab a set for my 2005 4Runner Sport 4x4. Thanks, -Dan

Sleeping pad for Truck Bed Platform

If you check his website that lists current prices, he admits that some of the links give him a kickback. So, yes, to a certain extent he IS a vendor. However, the other multiple positive reviews in this tread still tip me in favor. BTW, I am not a vendor.

Sleeping pad for Truck Bed Platform

Thank you for this website. Looks like I'll be requesting a custom width Silverback (probably 36"). I'm so happy I found this thread... I'm a BIG guy, and get uncomfortable on thin sleeping pads. Every air mattress I've tried leaks to some extent. This looks like it could be the ticket.

    Custom Netbook Topo GPS system

I'm fairly picky about monitors myself when it comes to brightness. I haven't found anything yet that satisfies me at reasonable cost. I own two laptops at the moment: An old Dell Inspiron 6000 obviously too dim to be used in sunny situations. Dell XPS M1530 with normal non-LED (ie: cold...

New Offroad GPS and Dual Band Radio Installed

It looks beautiful, but with a list price of $1300, it's hard to swallow. I suspect "street" prices to be perhaps $1000-1100 a few months after intro. Still, though. Price link: http://www.geoconnexion.com/geo_news_article/Lowrance-unveils-larger-display-Globalmap-Baja-840/2454

    Larger lift for expedition rig

I wholeheartedly agree for that smaller vehicle: big lifts are bad. I ran a 1985 4Runner with 33x12.5 on the old saggy stock springs (250k miles). The vehicle handled great on road. Lifting was the worst modification made to the vehicle. To clarify, the offroading was running established trails...
